Amazing Sugar Free Orange Slush Recipe for kids - a Great Healthy Treat. One of our favorite healthy, frozen treats is this Sugar Free Orange Slush recipe. It’s sweet, but not too sweet. It’s creamy and cold. It has no added sugar, and it’s simple to make. In fact, you probably have everything you need to whip it up in your kitchen.

When I was little, treats were few and far between. My dad would buy us ice cream a few times a year, and popsicles happened only when we were visiting someone else. My mom would occasionally buy orange juice concentrate. We weren’t allowed to make orange juice, but she would put it in our vegetable drinks to give them a nice flavor.

If we were very, very lucky, my mom would take us out for a special treat to eat orange juice concentrate right from the can. I’m not sure I could do it anymore, but at the time, it was the best treat ever. Cold, sweet, and wonderful. Now I mostly use it in smoothies and our favorite orange slushie drink.

My kids love this treat. They ask for it in winter and summer alike. It only requires 4 ingredients, but there are some extra special add ins if you want an even tastier treat. I’ll share our favorite tweaks with you in a minute. First, here’s the basic recipe.

Sugar Free Orange Slush Recipe

  • 3/4 Cup of Milk (Our favorite is Vanilla Almond Milk, but 2% works as well)
  • 1 Cup of Ice Chunks
  • 1/2 Cup 100% Orange Juice Concentrate
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla

Instructions:

I like to crush the ice in with the milk before I add the other two ingredients, but you can put them all in at the same time if that works with your blender. Blend on high until the ice is crushed, and the drink is smooth and creamy. We use the frozen drink setting on our blender, and it works beautifully.

Optional Add Ins

I told you they were coming, and here they are. My favorite add in, if I have it on hand, is a fresh, juicy orange. I’ll throw an entire one in, peeled of course, and add a few extra chunks of ice. This gives it an amazing burst of fresh flavor that is out of this world, and what a great source of vitamin C!!

The other add in I’ve used is 1 drop of Wild Orange essential oil. You have to be careful with this one, because if you get more than one drop, it’s too strong. The Wild Orange gives it a bit of punch though, and can be a fun option to try if you have essential oils on hand.

Break out your blenders friends, and try out this delicious sugar free Orange Slush recipe. I hope you enjoy it as much as my kids and I do.
